Mrdreamera - 2/26/2010
@freaksville01 I'm looking forward to seeing him back on air too! Thanks for the heads up. I wonder what the other person on here thinks about that now! lol Has anyone got egg on their face? *cough*
freaksville01 - 2/19/2010
@Mrdreamera looks like your right, matty has landed his own "footy show" based show on CH.7, spose to be starting early march, sweet :)
MegaMustang72 - 2/11/2010

ironballmagenty - 2/2/2010

jandles101 - 1/8/2010
Looks like another flash in the pan stunt. good old Singo. nice one. but no cigar.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
@jandles101 I agree. We will find out fairly soon about his comeback to tv. And yes, I think your wrong so we'll see. Rugby League season launches in a few months so it shouldn't be too long of a wait. Cheers. Cheers.
jandles101 - 1/3/2010
Mrdreamera I guess we will just have to see what happens. I think you are wrong and I have no doubt you feel the same about my opinion. The one thing I know is one of us is wrong, so I guess we will find out soon enough. Cheers.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
@jandles101 Even when the 'incident' happened. There were more messages of support than there were haters, and those supporters have continued to stick by him no matter what. Haters were outnumbered by a long shot, but it only takes a few complaints for a person or a programme to go off air.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
@jandles101 just a reply to tcn9 wanting to get rid of rugby league. They are NOT getting rid of it, far from it. The NRL are merely expanding the tv rights to include the other free to air tv. New deals mean more money, more sponsorship, more people to the game. It is a win win situation for the NRL. But it by no way means Ch9 are giving up League. Why would they when Origin and NRL grand finals have been some of their highest rated programmes ever?
jandles101 - 1/3/2010
Mrdreamera "And there are more supporters for a Matty Johns comeback than there are haters" I think that the supporters are just being very vocal, the people who don't believe he should be on TV don't need to say anything at the moment because guess what.... he is not currently on TV. If any station were foolish enough to sign him I have no doubt people would make their displeasure known. As I said I think it is just to big a risk for any reputable organisation to take.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
@jandles101 So how do you know it isn't how it happened? Your not reporting any facts there, but mere assumptions of what you THINK happened. It is no better than your assumptions on Matty Johns.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
And there are more supporters for a Matty Johns comeback than there are haters. Many, many more. Alot of tv personalities reinvent themselves after being dragged through the mud, and it seems Johns could be all the more better for it, not to mention richer too. For him to sign with either ch7 or Ten ( hopefully 7) would be a great way to expand League in what otherwise are AFL dominated channels. There will be alot of his fans following him closely wherever he's going to end up in 2010.
jandles101 - 1/3/2010
Mrdreamera Lets take a couple of examples. Bird and Inglis are both forced to bash their girlfriends around the face (and or glass them in the face) in "self defence" and or "to protect them from hurting themselves". What a steaming pile of dog shit that is. Years ago women used to fall down stairs and walk into doors, the story has changed the truth is the same.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
Matty Johns obviously wasn't a liability as you make him out to be, otherwise other networks would not be interested in trying to sign him up, with Ch9 trying to sign him up again. Of course league would like to get more elsewhere if they were able to. For all these years NRL was a game televised on ch9 and paytv. They need to expand into a tv deal that rivals the AFL. ch7, ch9 and Ten all televise AFL games and the AFL brand is richer for it.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
@jandles101 I would also like to ask, since you say there is so much false reporting of facts its ridiculous, then how do you know they didn't embellish on 'facts' from all those 'alleged' rape and bashing? How is all the information your stating as fact any different if your not being hypocritical about it? Only when it suits a certain agenda right?
jandles101 - 1/3/2010
Mrdreamera "ch9 pays the NRL way too little to broadcast so many games." If League could get more cash elsewhere they would. Matty Johns was sacked because he had become a liability to TCN9 and the sport. It is sad to see that incidents that involve players bashing and raping women seem to increase ticket sales. I doubt Channel 7 would ever allow its name to be sullied by a Johns incident, the risk is far to high, and people would say "I told you so".
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
@jandles101 Well you should look it up and find out about it yourself. When one newspaper reports it, I won't believe it. When a couple, I'll still be hesitant. But when all of the major newspaper have reported it from the beginning of November '09, with the latest report on it a couple of days ago, then I tend to believe it. They might embellish on a few truths but overall fact remains, Mathew Johns will almost 100% make a comeback to tv.
jandles101 - 1/3/2010
Mrdreamera "It is not a suggestion it has reported by media outlets in Australia." Just because it has been reported does not mean it is true. In fact there is so much false reporting, and reporting of rumours as facts in Australia that it has become ridiculous. I can understand why TCN9 would like to get rid of rugby league, the relentless bad publicity must be a real drain on their resources. But no outlet will want rugby league unless big changes are made.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
And while you continue to laugh at your ignorance, Johns has become hot tv property for Ch7 and now Ten who have reported to also approach Johns to do a show surrounding league and other comedic endeavours. I knew he'll be back in no time. He's too much of a tv personality to keep off the air, and the networks know that. And what you describe as 'absurd' is the truth. Ch9 offered him 500k to come back but Johns turned it down as he's getting a much better offer from ch7 and now Ten. Get with it.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
@jandles101 It is not a suggestion it has reported by media outlets in Australia. Of course I can support the person and not the behaviour. There's a difference. Reg and Matty the tv persona's I enjoy watching, so I'll continue to support him. I don't care what he does beyond tv, like I said, its none of my business. It' comparable to my family. I don't support some of the behaviour I see but it doesn't mean I love them any less. Get that right. Go on laugh at your own ignorance.
jandles101 - 1/3/2010
Mrdreamera I am just stating the simple facts. There is a foul undercurrent of criminal activity which has attached itself to Rugby League. If you support ppl who carry out a behaviour then you support that behaviour. Your suggestion that Mathew Johns was offered 500k by TCN9 is absurd. What he was offered was the rough end of a lawsuit if he didn't get out of their sight. Your suggestion that he is going to work for channel 7 is even more absurd, that one is a good laugh actually.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
@jandles101 I'll appreciate it if you stop twisting what I say to conform with what you have to say. I did not say I supported criminal behaviour or raping and bashing women. Those are your words not mine. I don't condone any behaviour of the sort. I support the tv personality that is Reg and Matty. They were funny to watch on tv. What he does beyond that is none of my business, and it shouldn't be anyone else's either. I've learnt there are always two sides of the story too.
Mrdreamera - 1/3/2010
@jandles101 I'll choose to not take what you said as an insult to those commenting, although I find it a contradiction you seem to be fitting your description of people posting here rather well. And yes, those talks have taken place as they have been covered by newspapers and newsites that matter and not by centrelink whom you seem to know alot about.
jandles101 - 1/3/2010
Mrdreamera "I read he turned down 500k a year to come back to ch9 because he's in serious talks with ch7" I read that he is serious talks with Centrelink, but he probably won't qualify for a payment based on his inability to read and write. Seriously though, I am surprised that most of the people commenting here know who to turn on a computer let alone find a web site.
